Health for All: Reimagining Knowledge, Power and Partnership
TUFH 2027 invites educators, students, health professionals, researchers, policymakers, community partners, and health system leaders from around the world to come together in Recife, Brazil, to explore how we can build more equitable, inclusive, and socially responsive health systems.
The theme Health for All: Reimagining Knowledge, Power and Partnership calls us to reflect on the ways health professions education, research, service, and policy can better respond to the needs, voices, and lived realities of the communities we serve. It invites us to ask whose knowledge is valued, who holds decision-making power, and how partnerships can move beyond consultation toward true co-creation, reciprocity, and shared responsibility.
At its heart, this theme is about reimagining and redistributing power. It challenges institutions to listen differently, to recognize communities as holders of knowledge, and to create spaces where students, health workers, patients, families, and communities are not only consulted, but actively shape the future of health. Health for all requires more than access to services; it requires shared ownership, mutual respect, and the courage to rethink who leads, who decides, and who benefits.
Rooted in the values of social accountability and inspired by Brazilian, Latin American, Indigenous, Afro-descendant, and Global South perspectives, TUFH 2027 will create space for dialogue, learning, and action across cultures, disciplines, and sectors. The conference will explore how health professions institutions and their partners can work together to advance health equity, strengthen communities, transform education, and contribute to health for all.
We warmly invite you to submit an abstract and share your work, experience, research, innovation, or community partnership. Abstracts are welcome from all areas connected to health equity, socially accountable education, community engagement, health workforce development, primary health care, public policy, social innovation, and health systems transformation.
Whether you are an educator, student, practitioner, policymaker, researcher, community representative, or advocate, TUFH 2027 is a place to share your voice, learn from others, and contribute to reimagining a more just and reciprocal future for health.
