TUFH 2027 Women’s Health Summit

The TUFH 2027 theme, Health for All: Reimagining Knowledge, Power and Partnership, recognizes that achieving health equity requires us to rethink not only how health systems are designed, but also who shapes them. Nowhere is this more important than in women’s health, where persistent inequities continue to limit access to quality care, influence health outcomes, and restrict women’s participation in leadership and decision-making.

Despite significant progress in many areas, women and girls around the world continue to face disproportionate barriers throughout the life course. These include inequitable access to sexual and reproductive health services, maternal healthcare, mental health support, prevention and treatment of non-communicable diseases, and healthy ageing. Gender-based violence, discrimination, economic inequality, climate change, conflict, and other social determinants of health further exacerbate these challenges, particularly for women from underserved and marginalized communities. Recognizing that women’s health extends far beyond reproductive health, the Summit embraces a life-course perspective that addresses the physical, mental, social, and environmental determinants of health from adolescence through older age.

Achieving Health for All requires moving beyond viewing women solely as recipients of care. Women are researchers, educators, healthcare professionals, caregivers, community leaders, policymakers, innovators, and advocates whose knowledge, lived experiences, and leadership are essential to creating more equitable, responsive, and resilient health systems. Advancing women’s health across the life course requires recognizing women as equal partners in generating knowledge, shaping decisions, exercising leadership, and driving collective action to improve health for individuals, families, and communities.

The TUFH 2027 Women’s Health Summit will bring together researchers, educators, healthcare professionals, policymakers, community organizations, students, and women with lived experience to explore innovative approaches that advance gender equity through collaboration and social accountability. The Summit will showcase evidence, successful partnerships, community-led initiatives, educational innovations, and policy approaches that strengthen women’s health across the life course and empower women as leaders in transforming health systems.

Participants will have the opportunity to share experiences, exchange ideas, and build new collaborations that contribute to more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable health systems. Through dialogue across disciplines, sectors, and communities, the Summit aims to inspire practical actions that translate evidence into meaningful change and reinforce the collective commitment to advancing women’s health as a cornerstone of achieving Health for All.
