Brazilian Association for Medical Education (ABEM)
Founded in 1962, the Brazilian Association for Medical Education (ABEM) is Brazil’s leading national organization dedicated to advancing excellence in medical education. Since organizing the first national scientific meeting in medical education in 1963—which evolved into the Brazilian Congress on Medical Education (COBEM)—ABEM has played a central role in shaping health professions education across the country.

Through its regional chapters, the Association promotes innovation, faculty development, research, policy dialogue, and collaboration to strengthen medical education throughout Brazil.
